Canon EF 70-200mm f2.8L IS II USM Lenses

EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM adopts a newly developed 23 lens elements in 19 groups optical design. The inclusion of a Canon proprietary fluorite element and 5 UD elements drastically minimizes secondary chromatic aberration commonly found in telephoto zoom lens, both in axial and magnification type chromatic aberration. The new optical system thus realizes ultra-high image quality with high contrast and high resolution. Its minimum focusing distance has been reduced to 1.2m with an improved 0.21x magnification to give extra flexibility. Photographers can now get closer to shoot without the need of swapping lenses.

EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM incorporates the latest Image Stabilizer which compensates for 4-stop shutter speed. In combination with the fast f/2.8 aperture, it is perfect for news assignment or sports photography in dimly-lit environment.

EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM also obtains higher durability and reliability by strengthening the barrel and improving the parts connection construction. Moreover, the excellent dust and drip resistance has been retained to make it suitable for those photographers working in adverse conditions.

The thickness of protruding exterior parts and switches of the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM has been reduced, guarding against accidental switching. Another noticeable improvement is the widened rubber focusing ring with finely patterned grooves to make manual focus easier.
