Samsung i9500 Galaxy S4 (S IV) is the next-generation successor to Samsung's super-hit 2012 flagship Galaxy S3. The new handset was unveiled at Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2013 event at the Radio City Music Hall in New York on March 14, 2013. -----

The next Galaxy device which Samsung describes as Life Companion, inspired by people of the world, is slimmer and stronger than its predecessor. It models a 7.9mm thin and lightweight uni-body construction featuring a 5.0-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display having a pixel density of 441ppi. Samsung's latest version of TouchWiz user interface is offered as well.

The phablet is powered by Android OS v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), which remains Google's latest update to date. It allows full access to Google Play with more than 800,000 downloadable apps and games. 2GB LPDDR3 RAM is part of the chip architecture. The handset sports a 13.0 Megapixel rear AF camera with 1080p movie recording capability in addition to Drama Shot mode for capturing more than 100 shots in only 4 seconds. Preloaded camera apps include Photo Eraser which creates a composite to remove background people and unnecessary objects from your photos and Story Album, an automatic album creating function. 

Samsung Galaxy S4 comes with a variety of new features. These are:

Smart Scroll and Smart Pause - These are extensions of Samsung's Smart Stay technology. While Smart Pause pauses a video when you look away and resumes automatically when you look back on screen, Smart Scroll uses gestures to determine where to scroll. Tilt the phone and it scrolls there. Convenient and simple.

Dual Camera, which records from both rear as well as front cameras at the same time so you can create a picture-in-picture experience and capture both sides in one video. This feature can be integrated with Sound & Shot mode allowing you to record sounds along with photos for a richer experience. 

Adapt Display - Automatically adapts the screen brightness, contrast and saturation based on the content being watched and the lighting environment it is being viewed in.

S Translator - Speech to text and text to speech translation. Type in your native language and the S4 speaks it translated in your chosen foreign language. The translator supports 9 languages and is deeply integrated into applications including email and ChatON.

Air View - This feature works similar to the S-Pen on the Galaxy Note 2, but you can now control the S4 with just your finger. It also allows navigation without touching, meaning it’s great for wet, sticky or gloved fingers.

Home Sync - A home cloud solution with 1TB storage. Allows up to 8 users with personal/shared partitions. Easily connect via NFC and pair almost any device. Home Sync can also stream content in Full HD.

S Voice Drive - Easily pair with Bluetooth and get the specific version of the app customized for you. It offers bigger fonts and less distraction. It gives hands-free access to calls, music, weather etc. and can also read out and respond to messages as you drive.
